Another NXP Event

Ahoy!

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the summer!  As for me......Well I'm doing well, but I cannot wait for winter!  I am all about the cooler weather.  Anyway, that isn't what this post is about, so let's get on with it.

Since the last NXP event Edward and I hosted was such a success, we have decided to host another one together!  This one will be a little different since we will be focusing only on ship fighting.  We decided to do it this way because we want to give everyone a chance to level up their nautical level as much as they want.  It will still be a ton of fun, so keep reading or the details.

When: Friday, August 5th @ 8pm EST/7pm CST

We will be fighting/farming Martin Chambers, a ship boss who has some awesome drops and gives a decent amount of scrip and gold.  All levels are welcome to join in! Christmas in July 2016

Hey Peoples!

Yesterday Kingsisle announced the they are bringing back the Christmas in July celebration until Monday, July 25th!  During this time, if you redeem the code "hollyjollysummer" you will receive a free item in Pirate101 and in Wizard101!  The Christmas in July celebration also brings the following to each game:

The gift boxes are one of my favorite parts of this celebration.  Each box gives you some gold, plus a chance at a snowflake eyepatch, housing item, rental mount, pet snack and you may even get a pet!  There are 5 gift box locations in Avery's Court, 7 in Skull Island and 3 at the Skull Island Docks.  Happy hunting!

Wizard101 Test Realm is Online!

Eh......Thought I would try something new, but not sure how well that really worked out. :D  Anyway good morning/afternoon/night, depending where you all are.  I have some exciting news! In case you haven't already heard, the Wizard101 test realm went online yesterday with some pretty awesome updates!

I logged on for a little yesterday and a little today to check out a few things.  I will be honest and say that while I enjoy testing a few features on test realm, I prefer to wait until content is released to the live game before checking everything out. So the review below covers just a couple new features.  You can click the following link for a full list of what has been added: Wizard101 Test Realm Notes.

One of the most notable things on test realm is the updated friends list.  The whole format of the list is different and it now offers additional features, such as different ways to sort the list, how recently your friend was last logged in, the date you friended someone, specialized icons and more!  I have to say that I thought the old list was fine, but I really like the format and additional features this new list has.

Next up I decided to check out the new Astral school spells, which you can get by talking to Librarian Fitzhume in Arcanum, who gives you a quest to talk to Qyburn Stellargaze.  He has 9 (4 Sun and 5 Star) new Astral school spells available, which each cost 1 training point.  My favorites are Epic and Radical.

The third thing I tested out was the new elixir available in the Crowns Shop.  It is called the Level 50 Elixir and it costs 30,000 crowns.  Here is an outline of how it works:

• You must already have at least one wizard on your account that is level 50 or higher.
• Select a wizard on that account that is lower than level 50 and purchase the elixir. (Purchases are non refundable and non-transferable)
• The elixir will raise your wizard to level 50, as well as completing all the main quests up through and including Dragonspyre.  It will also provide you with a set of school specific level 50 gear, all your school spells up through level 50, your level 48 school pet, a permanent enchanted broom mount, and access to Celestia.
• When you purchase the elixir, you will automatically be brought to Ambrose's office and instructed to talk to him.  He will provide you with the Celestia Spiral Key.

I will be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about this addition when I first heard about it (before I even read the update notes), but now that I understand it better and have actually tried it out, I think it is an awesome addition to the game!  And while it does carry a pretty hefty price, you get a lot of bang for your buck (especially if you take advantage of the crowns sales).   You can see the stats of the level 50 fire gear that my fire wizard received below.  I have to say it is pretty awesome gear!

Santa Run Recap

Hey guys!

This past Saturday Edward Lifegem and I had an awesome event, the Christmas in July Santa Run!  The purpose of this event was to get the community together to have a good time, and I think it worked.  So many people showed up! It was crazy!

After the run (some of us got separated but had our own mini dance party in the commons) we ported to my house for a bit so that people could look around and see where Santa lives and works.  I gave a mini tour via the house owner chat and then after about 10-15 minutes we ported to Edward's house where the fun really began!

There were lots of housing games and duels/gauntlets for everyone to participate in.  But first we took a huge group photo inside of Ed''s house, which was decorated awesomely!  I honestly spent a lot of time inside skating around on the ice skating rink in between gifting people.  I know Edward and a couple others were gifting random people too.  I hope everyone enjoyed what they received!  Gifting people is so much fun! :)

The event lasted about 3 hours, which is awhile for an event to last.  I had a lot of fun and I hope everyone who attended had a great time too.  Thanks to all of you for helping to make the party a success!  And if you missed it, don't worry too much.  There will be plenty more events in both games in the future.

On a side note, I am officially back.  I wasn't blogging much because of computer issues and then vacation and other real life things keeping me busy.  I should have more time now though and I am going to make blogging about both W101 and P101 a priority, so get ready for more posts!  See you soon!

Christmas in July Santa Run

Hey everyone!

I can't believe it's already July! That means that the year is more than halfway over already.  Crazy!  Summer is definitely not my favorite time of year.  It's way too hot for me.  But there is one thing I do love about summer......Christmas in July!

This year Edward Lifegem is having a Santa Run in Wizard101 to celebrate Christmas in July and he has asked me to co-host with him!  I am super excited about this event.  Christmas is so festive, no matter what time of year it is!  This event will be a lot of fun.  You can see more information about the event below or in the link to Edward's blog above.

When: Saturday, July 16th, 2016 @ 1:00pm CST

Where:  Meet in The Commons, Greyrose Realm

Who: Hosted by Edward Lifegem, Co-hosted by Autumn Dreamwalker

What to wear: Either a Santa suit or red and white

Valencia Part 2 NXP Event Recap

Hey everyone!

Earlier today was the NXP event that I hosted with Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem to celebrate the release of Valencia Part 2!  I was surprised about how many people came to this event. It was really nice to meet everyone!

The event started with us meeting up in Avery's Court.  Then we ported to the Calabria Skyway in Valencia to farm Martin Chambers.  I was actually surprised a how easy this ship boss is to fight.  He seems a lot easier than the Aquila ships, but the good thing is that he respawns really quickly! People were gaining lots of nautical levels and I got a ton of gold and some awesome ship equipment!

After about an hour we all ported to my Haunted Grotto and had a five part scavenger hunt.  Edward gifted all the winners, which was really nice of him (and nice of Kingsisle for supplying the crowns)!  The last part of the event was just hanging out and pvping a little.  I think a group went into my Smuggler's Arena as well.   I didn't get to PVP but I had fun watching.

Valencia Part 2 NXP Event

Hey Everyone!
