Stream Recap - September 28, 2018

Hello, Wizards and Pirates and Wizrates! :D

So I know.....This post is a day late.  I apologize for that, but yesterday was super crazy with homework and driving my kids all over the universe.  Anyway, this past week we were back to having three streams so yay for that!  Although, as I make this post, I realize I need to take more pictures throughout the streams.  I guess I get too distracted by talking and having fun.  Maybe you guys could spam the stream chat every few minutes and tell me to take some? Or spam my twitter feed :D  Seriously though, as time goes by, I hope to get better about remembering so I can make these posts more interesting with pics.  Anyway, on to the recaps!

On Sunday, we decided to get into Pirate101 since we had to cancel 2 of our weekly questing streams in a row.  Since neither of us had much experience with ship PvP, we decided to try it out.  We had a few people join us and it was really a lot of fun! I even let Edward sink my ship with his raft.  We also tried to farm the ship that was in the PvP area, but it takes forever to respawn!  Please lower the respawn time, Kingsisle!  Either way, it was a lot of fun!  After a while doing ship PvP, Jack Nightingale invited us back to his house and I PvPed against Edward. I might have won, but I think he let me :P  The shot above is in Jack's house in a glitch he made.  It was awesome! Thanks for letting us use your house, Jack! And thanks to everyone who joined us!

We are almost done with Wizard City!  On Tuesday we finished up Cyclops Lane, Colossus Blvd, and fought Foulgaze! Questing on here with this group has been so much more fun that I thought it would be and we even had a few new people join in!  Next week we are planning on finishing up Wizard City by fighting Nightshade, venturing into Crab Ally, and if we have time, doing a run through the Sunken City. You need to be level 12 to access Crab Ally, so if you would like to join us, be sure to catch up.  We will be helping some people level up with Wizard City Side quests this Sunday during our stream, so be sure to join us if you need help!

Quest: The Dark of Nightshade
Realm: Kelvin
Next Stream: Tuesday, October 2. 2018

We got to quest on Pirate101 again this week! YAY! We are still working on the Traitor's Cave quests, but we should be finishing them up next week.  I think these quests are the longest part of questing through Skull Island, mostly because it is a lot of long dungeons.  It was still fun though! I just wish Pirate101 would add friend chat channels like they have on Wizard101, because it would make it easier for the group to communicate. Anyway, we finished up Manny's quest and are almost done with Moe's quest.  I think one group finished up the last dungeon for Moe's quest, but the rest of us still need to go through the Marie Celestia dungeon.  Then we just have Jack's quest left!  After that, it will be off to Jonah Town!  If you need to catch up, this is where we left off:

Quest: Off the Hook
Realm: One-Eyed Jack
Next Stream: Thursday, October 4, 2018

Again, we will be helping some people during Sunday's stream if anyone needs help catching up.  Pirate101 help will be during the second hour of streaming, so around 8pm EDT.  Each week we seem to gain a few more people which makes it more and more fun. so I hope to see you in either game this coming week!  Until then, have a good weekend!

Stream Recap - September 21, 2018

Hey everyone!

As promised on Twitter, I am going to start recapping our streams each week on Fridays.  All the streams will be included in one post, so if you are interested in reading about what we were up to, or if you are looking for updates on our new wizard and pirate questing, this is the place to come! If you would like to watch the streams, just click the date and it will bring you to the video for that day. So without further ado, onto the recaps for the past week!

A few days before this stream, Pirate101 announced that the skeleton key boss update was hitting the live realm.  To celebrate, Edward and I decided to try out the bosses and invited our level 70 pirate friends to join us.  We had about 7 of us, so we split up into a group of 4 and a group of 3.  I had done the Old Scratch boss with Edward during the test realm, so I knew what to expect with that one.  However, we hadn't done any of the others.

During the stream, we got to run through all four: Old Scratch, Captain Blood, Brass Monkey, and Duck of Death. I was surprised to find out that even though you only need one key for the Brass Monkey battle per every 4 people, it is a solo fight.  I actually had the wrong companions for this one and died.  I am going to go back and try it again sometime though.  The rest of the battles went smoothly with a group of four, and I had a lot of fun! I look forward to trying all of these bosses again sometime. Thanks to everyone who came out and help us with these!

This was the new wizard questing day! Yay! We started off finishing up Triton Ave, where we had left off the previous week.  After defeating the Harvest Lord, we decided to head to Firecat Ally. This meant defeating lots of fire elves and magma men.  We finally made it to Alicane and defeated him with no problem! Then we decided to help a few people defeat Kraken.
Questing with this group of wizards is so much fun! We have tons of laughs and it's always a great time. The cool part is that each week we gain a few more people, so if you want to join us, it isn't too late! We join up every Tuesday evening and quest through the main quest, leaving most side quests for solo play throughout the week. The information about where we left off is below.  Thanks to everyone who comes out and makes this stream a ton of fun!
Quest: A Giant Problem (Cyclopes Lane)
Realm: Kelvin
Next Stream: Tuesday, September 25th @ 6pm CDT/7pm EDT
Stream: www.twitch.tv/edwardlifegem

Thursday, September 20, 2018
Unfortunately, we had to cancel this stream, but it would have been our new pirate questing stream.  If you are interested in joining us for this one, we quest on Thursday evenings.  More info is below, but first a special announcement.  During next week's Pirate101 stream, we will be giving away a one-month Pirate101 membership to one person who quests with us.  All you have to do is show up with a new pirate and quest with us, and I will be entering everyone who does into a raffle.  This is another really fun group to quest with and my son even joins us in the stream, so I hope to see you there!
Quest: Lizard City (Traitor's Cave)
Realm: One-Eyed Jack
Next Stream: Thursday, September 27th @ 6pm CDT/7pm EDT
Stream: www.twitch.tv/edwardlifegem

So that's it for this week's streaming update! I hope this new format is easier for everyone to keep track of everything.  I know it's easier for me.  I even added a new label called "Stream Updates" so you can just click that and easily find everything.  Anyway, I hope to see you guys at our future streams, and if you are ever curious about what we may be streaming, you can see the upcoming schedule on my Streaming Page.  Thanks for reading and see you soon!

New Wizard Questing Part 1

Hey there Wizards!

Last week, Edward Lifegem and I started a new weekly stream where we created new wizards with all of you to quest through the game.  This stream is every Tuesday evening from 7pm-9pm EDT.

Last Tuesday was our first day of questing on these wizards.  I made a fire wizard named Autumn Flame and Edward made a myth wizard named Edward Gem.  We started right in Ambrose's office to get the first quest and then we headed to Unicorn way.  We made it all the way through that area and started in on Triton Avenue, where we left off for the night.  You can see more details about exactly where below the picture.

We have decided to do most side quests on our own time, but we will be doing some as we quest through, especially quests to areas like Aquila and Crab Ally where we can farm for new gear.  If you would like to join us this week, it isn't too late! Simply make a wizard and quest to the point mentioned above and then meet up with us tomorrow.  I hope to see you there because last week was a lot of fun! P.S. If you do join in, remind me to take some better screenshots this week! haha

New Pirate101 Updates and a Streaming Announcement

Ahoy pirates!

Guess what happened this morning! Pirate101 released a new update to the live game! I am so excited about this one if you can't tell from all the exclamation points!!!!!!!!! Okay, I will stop shouting at you all now, but seriously I am so excited.  I always love new Pirate101 content and while this update isn't a storyline update, it does add some cool new features.  Let's take a look at them.

Old Scratch Promotion - I love the companion promotion quests and this one is super cool and spooky!  Once you are level 70 and promote Old Scratch to level 70, you can do a promotion quest for him! And this particular update actually leads into the next one.

Skeleton Key Bosses - If you play Wizard101, you may already be familiar with skeleton key bosses, but they are a new addition to Pirate101.  You access the first one (Old Scratch) during Old Scratch's promotion quest. After that, there are three more as well, Captain Blood, Brass Monkey, and Duck of Death.  These bosses are TOUGH, so be prepared!

Quest Finder - Having trouble finding those hidden side quests?  Now Pirate101 has a quest finder!  To activate it, just click the quest finder box in your quest book and the quest arrow will direct you to the closest quest you haven't collected yet.

Other updates include backpack item lock, increased space elixirs for the friends list, backpack, and banks, new pet names, member benefits and many more!  You can see the complete list of updates by clicking here: Pirate101 Updates.

To celebrate the release of these updates to the live game, Edward and I will be streaming a run through of the Skeleton Key bosses this Sunday during our stream.  We will be looking for 2 more level 70 people who have skeleton keys to join us so we can complete all four bosses.  Let us know if you are interested!  Of course, more are welcome to join in and we can split into groups too, so if you have a level 70 pirate with a level 70 Old Scratch, meet up with us in Avery's Court, One-Eyed Jack realm on Sunday at 7pm EDT!  Hope to see you there!

Balloon Run Recap

Hey everyone!

As you might know, Wizard101's 10th birthday is this month.  Many of the fansites are having events and contests to celebrate.  I hosted a Balloon Run with Edward Lifegem from Around the Spiral this past Sunday.  It was a ton of fun and we streamed the entire event.

We started off just hanging out in Ravenwood and talking with everyone.  Many people showed up early and it was fun interacting.  Kingsisle was awesome and provided us with a code for 1-Day balloon mounts for everyone to use during the event. There may be some mounts left on this code, so try it out if you would like your own 1-Day Balloon mount.  The code is: Balloons1DaySOTS.

Once everyone had their mounts, we took a few pictures and then it was time to.....well not run, but float!  We went around Ravenwood 5 times and then around the Commons 5 times to signify 10 years of Wizard101.

After the run, it was time for hide and seek, where 3 winners each won a permanent balloon mount!  Then it was time to port to my Celestial Observatory for the after party.

The main part of the after party was the scavenger hunt, where people had to find 5 specific items and email screenshots of them to us.  The winner of that contest was Isaiah Hexrider.  Congrats Isaiah! The scavenger hunt ended up being more difficult than we had planned and took a lot longer than expected, but I still think people had fun with it.  After that, we had a few housing games for Party Corgi pets and also another mini hide and seek for Decaversary packs.

I would like to thank everyone who showed up!  I think this was a really fun event and I had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone!  Congrats to all the winners of the contests and thank you to Kingsisle for providing all the codes for the rewards!

There is still a lot more going on throughout the rest of the month.  Check out all the official fansites for contests and you can see the rest of the scheduled events below.  Thanks again to everyone and Happy 10th Birthday, Wizard101!

Relaunch Contest Winners

Hey everyone!

Throughout the past couple week, I have been hosting a contest to celebrate the relaunch of my blog.  Wow! The support and response from all of you were amazing! Thanks to everyone who entered and for all the kind words you guys had. It really means a lot to me.

This is one of the largest contest responses I have ever had, with the exception of retweet contests on Twitter.  You guys had so many great ideas!  Some of them I will definitely be using in the future, but I am going to keep those a surprise for now.  Some ideas, while I thought they were great (such as a forum or cool graphics effects) are way beyond my current capabilities.  Just know that if you don't see your idea implemented, it doesn't mean I didn't like it.  And who knows, things could always change down the line.  I am going to keep all these ideas filed away for the future!

Anyway, onto the winners.  As I mentioned in the original contest post, this was a raffle. I entered everyone's names into a random list generator and the first three it gave back, in order are the winners.  So without further ado, here they are:

First Prize - Accursed Play Gauntlet
Alexander Skywalker

Second Prize - Battle Mage Keep
Sophia Rainbow

Third Prize - 5,000 Crowns
Brandon Nightdreamer

Congrats to all the winners! Your codes have been emailed to the address you used to enter. And thank you so much to everyone who entered!  Your ideas were all amazing!  Be sure to watch out for more contests in the future.  Also be sure to check out the stream I host with Edward Lifegem.  See you soon!

New Pirate Questing Part 1

Hey everyone!

Last night was my and Edward Lifegem's first official Pirate101 stream since we decided to start streaming on a schedule.  We decided that Thursdays will be Pirate101 days and we are dedicating them to leveling new pirates, with a twist!
The questing group!

The twist is that we invited everyone to create a new pirate and join us in questing each Thursday while we stream!  We had several people join us and it was so much fun!  My son even joined us in the game and on the stream.  We started right at the beginning, by talking to Captain Avery.  We quested through most of the free to play areas, defeating troggies and cutthroats along the way.

After we got to Traitor's Cave on Blood Shoals, we started Manny's quest and stopped when we got to the quest "Lizard City." At that point, it was time for some nautical leveling!
So many rafts! Btw, it is extremely hard to make a line of ships.....

Nautical leveling is one of my favorite things in Pirate101, but I had never had an NXP event with a bunch of rafts! It was really a lot of fun! We fought the ships in Skull Island Skyway near Dead-Eye Deidre.  This gave us a chance to gang up on her and get some decent ship equipment drops.
A FLYING SHIP!

So that was two hours of a lot of fun! If you missed the stream yesterday and would like to join us in the future, you can catch up.  I will post the information about where we left off below, and I will also post it on my streaming page each week.  We actually won't be streaming on September 13th, so that gives everyone 2 weeks to get a membership or crowns to buy areas and catch up to where we are.  After that, we are going to try to stream every Thursday, unless something comes up.
Thanks to Chrissy for this great shot of Triton sinking a ship!

Next Pirate101 Questing Stream:
Thursday, September 20, 2018
6pm CDT / 7pm EDT

Quest where we stopped:
Lizard City (Blood Shoals, Traitor's Cave, Manny's quest)

Level:
5

Nautical Level:
5
I hope to see you in 2 weeks at our next Pirate101 stream!  Or before that at one of our other streams!  Until then, have fun questing! :)
